A GROUP of children from Alton Infant School have helped launch the Alton Local Food Initiative by planting vegetables, herbs and flowers in a flower bed at the town's railway station.

The school has always encouraged its pupils to enjoy gardening and experience the fun and satisfaction of growing their own vegetables.
