THERE was a growing sense of anticipation – or should that be a sense of growing anticipation? – as Kingsley's new allotments were at last officially opened on Sunday.

The sun beamed down on an excited crowd of parish councillors, allotment plot holders and their families and residents as they toasted the success of the village's new venture.
