A FARNHAM gymnastics club has celebrated its first anniversary.

Stellar Gymnastics turned one year old on Sunday after what has been a very busy first year for the club.

Over the course of 2015, Stellar won two awards at the Farnham Sports Awards, grew to more than 100 members and a few lucky club members were even able to join the coaching team to open the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow.

Head coach Hannah Fox, who discovered gymnastics at the age of 10, said: “From my first lesson I knew gymnastics would be a life-long passion.”

Hannah started the club in Farnham to make gymnastics more accessible for the town’s residents. Ambitions are high for the club.

“The 2015 World Championships has done wonders for the work rate in the gym,” said Hannah, adding that many club members will be looking to take their National Development Pathways Grades in 2016.

While goals are set very high for some of the club’s members Hannah stressed Stellar Gymnastics aims to be inclusive to children of all ability levels.

Already working with children from local primary and secondary schools the club will begin classes for pre-school children in February and classes for adults later in the year.

The club is looking to move to its own venue in Farnham this year in order to offer tuition to more people.

Hannah has expressed her thanks to everyone who has helped the club over the last year.
