AN application for an additional two caravans for residential occupation by a single gypsy family has been given permission by East Hampshire District Council’s planning committee.

Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council objected to the application in May, stating that since Mr Keet’s daughter Joanne, for whom the application was made, already has separate accommodation at Hill Top Stables in Devil’s Lane, Liphook, where she lives with her husband Thomas Watts, and that the application would represent excessive overdevelopment.

Fred Keet applied for an additional pitch for two caravans, one stationary and one travelling, for residential occupation by a single gypsy family.

EHDC stated the residential use permitted would be restricted to the standing of no more than six caravans on the site of which no more than three shall be static caravans or mobile homes.

In addition no commercial activities shall take place on the land without the prior written consent of the local planning authority.

EHDC concluded the site benefits from planning permission for one gypsy family, and there is a recognised need for such accommodation within the district.
