THREE hairdressers proved they are a cut above the rest by raising thousands of pounds for Frimley Health Charity’s Breast Care Appeal.
Nina Warden, Tracy Taplin and Sharon Lloyd held a ‘Be Beautiful Party Night’, which was attended by 130 people. The evening was opened by breast surgeon Isabella Karat and raised £3,664 for the appeal to equip a dedicated breast unit at Frimley Park Hospital.
The three organisers later visited the hospital to present a giant cheque. Nina, owner of Be Beautiful Hair and Beauty, said: “We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness and wanted to do our best to help.
“The venue and the band, The Velvet Underwriters, did an amazing job and we received so many messages afterwards saying what a great night everyone had.
“We reached out to local businesses for donations to our luxury raffle and were overwhelmed at their generosity. We couldn’t have achieved half of what we did without the support from local companies, friends and families alike.”
Frimley Health Charity’s Breast Care appeal is aiming to raise £750,000 by October this year. Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Frimley Park Hospital, will match every pound raised up to £750,000, creating a £1.5m investment for a 3D mammography machine and dedicated unit for the 6,000 people who use the hospital’s breast services every year.
