NEARLY 500 local residents enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, music, food and games when Hale School held its annual ‘summer fair with a difference’, Hale Fest.
Organised by Hale School’s PTA, Hale Fest 2018 featured the work of local musicians and entertainers. Highlights included shows by Hale School’s Glee Club and the three finalists from the school’s Hale’s Got Talent competition, a fully sign-languaged performance from the Visual Harmonies Signing Choir, and a spectacular gymnastics display.
Away from the stage, popular attractions for kids of all ages included two bouncy castles, a hula-hoop workshop, free family craft from Farnham Maltings, face-painting, a prize raffle and the tombola, while home-made cakes, burgers and paella were among the culinary delights on offer.
Hale Fest raised a record £2,914.32 for Hale School and the money raised will now be used to directly benefit the school’s children. The event was run entirely by volunteers.
PTA chairperson Lucy Capeling said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported Hale Fest 2018. The event was fantastic fun and it was great to see all parts of the wider school community coming together for a wonderful afternoon.”
