The little monsters were kept busy with dance and drama taster sessions from Act One Adventures and Busy Lizzy. Hallowe’en style crafts were provided by Farnham Creation Station, and there was face painting by Sparkle Face.
An array of market stalls, with tasty treats greeted visitors, and children brought out their inner artist in the biscuit and cake decorating workshop. Raffle prizes were supplied by Squires Garden Centre, David Cloud Leisure, Little Street, Art One Adventures and Busy Lizzy.
However it wasn’t all fun and games, as the branch has announced possible closure by the end of this year. Three members who are currently fulfilling the roles of co-ordinator, treasurer and secretary are stepping down at Christmas, and their positions are yet to be filled.
If the key positions are not filled, they will no longer be able to keep the branch running and will most likely be merged with either Farnborough, Guildford or another local branch.
Committee member Emma Leask said: “We wanted the Hallowe’en event to highlight the kind of things that we do. We just need a little bit of help, as the children of those stepping down have grown up, so they want to move on and go and do something else.
“We need new parents to come in and be involved. Those three positions need to be filled, it’s probably a bit daunting for those who haven’t been involved in NCT before. We do numerous events like the ‘newly new sale’, where we get hundreds of people coming and selling second-hand items. We won’t be able to run those types of services if don’t get the positions filled.”
The branch also covers Ash, Ash Vale and Tongham. If anyone is interested in getting involved or would like more information they can contact the team on 0300 330 0700 or at [email protected].
