THE Three Horseshoes pub at East Worldham celebrated Hallowe’en with creepy tales and a pumpkin carving competition, the results of which made a spooky display to welcome visitors through the front door.
The competition, which attracted offerings by children and adults, provided an opportunity for one of the parents to carve a ‘30’ into her pumpkin to publicise the fact that local residents are currently campaigning for road users to observe the 30 miles per hour speed limit on the B3004 through the village.
Gill Manning-Smith, landlady of The Three Horseshoes pub in the village, said: “As Hallowe’en is a special time for children, it was a nice reminder to advertise safety on our roads.”
