A CALL to end the "prevaricating and haggling" over the latest plans for the refurbishment of the Georgian Hotel in the High Street has been made this week by Haslemere Chamber of Trade president Andrew Brownrigg.

He said: "There should be no prevaricating or haggling over the plans by Longford Securities and Equities for the Georgian Hotel site. There are many obvious reasons that have already been openly discussed and accepted for the need for the hotel to reopen, and the most important of these quite rightly relate to the need for this prominent High Street amenity to be restored for the use and convenience of the residents of Haslemere."
