IN a year when GCSE results declined nationally, Amery Hill School was delighted to see improved grades across the board.
According to headteacher Stephen Crabtree, 95 per cent of those entered achieved five or more A* to C grades and 72 per cent achieved five or more grades including English and Maths. The total points score rose to 596 from 496 the previous year.
Three quarters of the pupils achieved a higher grade in English while more than 80 per cent scored at least a C in maths. The results in science and ICT were spectacular with 100 per cent, 98 per cent and 98 per cent achieving A*-C in biology, chemistry and physics respectively and almost every child achieving a higher grade in ICT.
