Sir, – The consultation document from West Surrey Health Authority has some excellent proposals and it should be studied carefully.
The executives have a very difficult task to establish the "Right Balance" between accessibility and a high quality modern Health Service.
Managers have to meet unlimited demand for health service on limited budgets. Sometimes they have to make difficult choices.
I must stress that the current Farnham Hospital provides excellent rehabilitation facilities and a first-class Stroke Unit. It is important to acknowledge the excellence of the present nursing and therapy staff at Farnham Hospital.
They have been through the fourth consultation on the future of Farnham Hospital during the past eight years and in spite of the destabilisation and proposed changes, they continue to work very hard to maintain the excellence of the unit.
