WEYDON School’s annual dance show sold out for the sixth year running with two evening performances.

More than 140 students put on an amazing spectacle of dance moves with special performances from students at St Peter’s Primary School.

Students from Weydon demonstrated their talents in both individual and group dances and wowed the audiences over the two nights.

The talented students put on performances including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, street and tap.

There were amazing performances by Weydon’s Dance Academy, Legit Boys Dance Group and the GCSE Dance students.

The audience were enthralled by the talent on offer and the schools’ Medici theatre came alive with the young performers who performed.

There was a range of ages, abilities and style but they all came together through dance.

Naomi Richards, dance teacher at Weydon who helped choreograph many of the dance routines with the students, said: “I am so proud of all the students who took part.

“This year, a member of staff also performed a solo ballet dance and put on a great performance.

“The rehearsals and hard work that went into this year’s show was evident as the performances were amazing.

“I would like to thank all the students and staff involved and thank everyone who came to watch the performances.”

Approximately £1,500 was raised going towards the year 11 prom and towards the development of dance within the creative arts department.
