PLANS to reclaim the ownership of the Town Meadow from Waverley Borough Council were unveiled at a meeting of Haslemere Town Council's finance and general purposes committee last week.
Councillors welcomed the suggestion by town mayor Brian Howard for the town council to "buy back" its control of the meadow, which it owned until it was handed over when Waverley was established in 1974, taking responsibility for the area as it does with Lion Green.
