HASLEMERE will be raising the roof and a cuppa to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in a weekend full of activities next month.
The occasion, full of music and colour, culminates in a giant tea party in Haslemere High Street which it is hoped will be the biggest in the land. There will be fancy dress competitions for all ages plus a special jubilee cake competition.
Taking place on Tuesday June 4, it will be opened by former cabinet minister turned author, Edwina Currie at 2 pm.
The High Street will be closed between midday and 6 pm. to make way for bunting, stalls, and representatives from a number of Commonwealth countries demonstrating their culture and heritage.
There will also be line dancing and a "slave"market.
Organisers are hoping the tea party will be the biggest in the country with tea at 50 pence for a cup - and a coloured hat.
Helping the proceedings go with a swing will be a Jamaican steel band, the PG Stompers, and Haslemere Town Band.
There is plenty planned for children including a balloon fantasia, Punch and Judy show and face painting.
Other events include a Golden Jubilee Music Hall presented by Haslemere Players in the Haslemere Hall on Saturday, June 1 at 2-30 pm and 7-30 pm.
On Sunday, June 2, a civic service of thanksgiving takes place at St Bartholomew's Church at 11-15 am followed by a "Songs of Praise" presented by Haslemere's combined churches in the Haslemere Hall at 7 pm.
On Monday, a Jubilee Hop takes place in the Haslemere Hall in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief. Dancing to the "Last Manjack" band will include dances which have been made popular over the last 50 years.
See next week's Haslemere Herald for an entry form for the fancy dress competition and the following week for an entry form for the jubilee cake contest.
