Weeks one and two have so far involved 21 club members, covering all age groups, and to date have produced 28 final appearances from 76 swims.
For the younger swimmers slowly making their way up the county rankings, the performance is far more important than an unrealistic expectation of coming home with a gold medal.
To this end, 100 per cent of the 10-13yrs age bracket came back with personal best times in every swim – a tremendous achievement for the youngsters to build on.
The medals, as expected, came from the more experienced members.
The golden quartet were Chloe Winter with wins in the 100m freestyle and 100m and 200m backstroke, Helen Meckiffe in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, Owen Morgan in the 200m backstroke and 100 and 200m freestyle, and Robert Dale in the 100m individual medley and 100 and 200m backstroke.
Dale also picked up silver medals in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, while Chloe Winter won silver in the 200m freestyle.
Thomas White continued his good all-round form. With a tally of three silvers and five bronzes to date at the Spectrum, he has three more events to break that golden barrier.
Jennie Clarke, once again, had a good championship with silvers in the 100 and 200m breaststroke and a bronze in the 100 backstroke. The weekend was sweetened for Jennie with a national qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke, meaning that she will be attending her fifth successive National age group championships this summer.
