PLANS to provide Haslemere with a new community centre are still forging ahead despite the news this week that a lottery bid for funding towards the project has been turned down.
Although the application for the £540,000 grant from the National Lottery Charities Board was unsuccessful, project co-ordinator Eric Giles said he was determined a second application would be made "as soon as possible".
