IT was hats off to Royal Junior reception and Year 2 pupils who sported some creative headgear for their Easter hat parade on the terrace in front of the rest of the school, families and friends.
Younger children in the school’s Little Sailors day care and nursery classes also enjoyed an egg-citing end to the term last Friday. After singing Easter-themed songs, they told a seasonal story and showed off their Easter bonnets.
And in the run up to the end of term, grandparents of junior school pupils were invited in for a special entertainment.
Reception, prep one and prep two children charmed their audience by performing a French song, while prep three and prep four pupils sang one of the songs which they had been learning for the Voice in a Million concert.
Prep five and prep six classes impressed everyone with their energetic rendition of a song from their upcoming production of The Amazing Adventures of Superstar. They also gave some impressive solo performances.
Afterward, grandparents enjoyed a tour of the school with their grandchildren and were treated to tea and cake to round off the event.
Families joined children in the Comets reception class earlier in the term, for a Dinosaur Tea Party.
Pupils wrote the invitations and made up their shopping lists, then set to work making tasty treats. Sandwiches were shaped as herbivores or carnivores, there were dino egg biscuits, and the edible display was completed by a Bread-asaurus and a Veggie-raptor. There was great excitement when the time came to open the beautiful eggs they had created and hatch a baby dinosaur. Younger brothers and sisters entered into the fun by wearing dinosaur-themed finery.
