MORE than 700 enthusiasts enjoyed Haslemere Festival of Sport in 2016 and it will be bigger and better this year on Bank Holiday Monday.

Roll up and have a go at the free family event at The Edge, Woolmer Hill Sports Centre, from midday to 4pm, on August 28. The activities on offer are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Two astro pitches, an indoor sports area, athletics track and the ‘Hub’ will be packed with different sports to try, courtesy of a huge range of local clubs and organisations, including Bugs Netball Club, Churt Cricket Club, Sabres Handball Club, Leaping Hart Archery, Haslemere Performing Dance, Border Athletics, Chiddingfold Pony Club, Edge Badminton Club, Fernhurst Football Club, Haslemere Bowling, Sub Aqua and Hockey Clubs, Hindhead Golf Club and Sailability based at Frensham.

Further highlights include Canine Partners demonstrations by charity dog Toffee, a mega inflatable slide and Dylan’s ice cream. A £5 Sports Locker voucher is available for those coming on the day and a certificate for all U13s who try 10 different sports/activities.
