ANYONE looking for a fun run with a twist is spoilt for choice this year.

Phyllis Tuckwell is raising funds for its care by covering participants with foam or showering them with rainbow-coloured powder paint while they run.

The charity has held the hugely popular Dash of Colour event for four years now and its fifth promises to be even better than ever.

People are invited to join fellow fundraisers on Saturday, September 1, at Frimley Lodge Park and run, jog or walk the 5k circuit while being showered with multi-coloured, gold and silver sparkly powder paint.

White t-shirts won’t stay white for long as participants end the run covered in the colours of the rainbow, to celebrate the colour that Phyllis Tuckwell brings to the lives of its patients and their families.

The gold and silver shimmer recognises how its supporters help Phyllis Tuckwell sparkle.

For those that can’t wait that long, they don’t have to as Phyllis Tuckwell will be holding another fun run in just a few months’ time and is inviting people be one of the first to try it out.

Pop Sunday, June 17, in the diary and get ready for a 4k Bubble Rush at Merrist Wood College in Worplesdon.

As with Dash, it’s not a race, so people can run, jog, walk, or even hop, skip and jump their way round the course.

At special stations along the route, high-powered cannons will spray out a sea of coloured foam to create a 4ft deep bubble bath for participants to burst their way through.

It’s also a great way to celebrate dads as June 17 is Father’s Day.

Laura Moody, the events fundraising manager, said: “We provide vital supportive and end-of-life care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

“As the NHS/Government only covers 20 per cent of our costs, we have to raise over £20,000 a day to be able to do this, and these runs are a brilliant way to help us hit this target while having fun with family and friends.”
