HAMPSHIRE County Council (HCC) is seeking residents’ and stakeholders’ views on proposals to change its school transport policies.
The changes would effect the county council’s Home to School and Post-16 policies which, if agreed, would come into effect from September 2020.
Councillor Keith Mans, leader of HCC said: “Legally, the county council must consult, every year, on its transport policy for those over the age of 16 years who are in education or training.
“The law also requires the authority to consult on any changes to this and the Home to School transport policy.
“We want people to tell us, through the consultation, what they think about the policies and the proposed changes.”
Councillor Mans continued: “The main drive for this consultation is not linked to savings.
“Only one of the proposals could potentially result in a reduction in our spend on transport and we foresee minimal impact for children currently in receipt of transport.”
The consultation will be open until midnight on February 23.
