YULETIDE festivities with a difference were on offer from the National Trust at the Devil’s Punch Bowl on Saturday and Sunday.
Instead of Santa, visitors were able to meet and greet Mrs Christmas and her elves and take a ride on a sleigh drawn by Mike’s Donkeys. Younger visitors enjoyed exploring the Punch Bowl looking for the reindeer who had decided to hide amongst the trees, before returning to Mrs Santa to collect a small prize.
NT Surrey Hills manager Colin Williams, said: “The weekend was a great chance to get outdoors and explore while taking some time away from the Christmas rush. We are also very grateful to have been able to welcome the Haslemere Community Choir and ‘The Little Choir’, who performed festive carols and music for us. While Mrs Santa, her elves and sleigh have had to return to the South Pole, the café is open every day except Christmas Day to welcome visitors during the festive holidays.”
