North East Hampshire and Farnham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has received an ‘outstanding’ rating from NHS England for the second year in a row.
The CCG, which is responsible for arranging and buying the majority of NHS services across Farnham, Aldershot, Farnborough, Fleet and Yateley, was one of just 20 out of 207 CCGs to receive the top rating.
In a letter to the CCG, David Radbourne, director of commissioning operations for NHS England (South East), wrote: “Thank you for your CCG’s contribution to delivering the Five Year Forward View, and your focus on making improvements for local people.”
The quality of the CCG’s leadership was rated as Green Star, meaning that NHS England considered it to be very good and demonstrated practices that served as examples to others.
Dr Peter Bibawy, acting clinical chair at the CCG, said: “To receive an overall rating of outstanding is fantastic news and is recognition of all the hard work and commitment from everyone at North East Hampshire and Farnham CCG. To achieve an outstanding rating a second time demonstrates our relentless commitment to ensuring our local community receives the best possible health and care.
“We are privileged that we work in a local health system with so many excellent partner organisations, across the public, private and voluntary sectors, and that local people are so dedicated to helping us to improve services. We will all continue to do all that we can to ensure that the people of North East Hampshire and Farnham have access to the best possible health and care services when and where they need them.”
Maggie MacIsaac, chief executive of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight CCG Partnership, added: “I am incredibly proud of our staff and partners and providers across the Frimley Health and Care system who have all ensured that this rating has been achieved. Through our joint working and commitment to improving services for patients, this is not only reflected in our assessment score, but is felt and experienced within our communities.”
