A NEW state-of-the-art care home celebrated its official completion at Bramshott Place Village.

The ribbon at Bramshott Grange was cut by Robin Young, chairman of Liphook Age Concern and BPV resident and retired nurse Lindsey Wright.

The event was attended by Liphook Day Centre representatives, Bob Hall and manager Diane Dormer, hosted by Mayflower Care Communities home director Libby Barrett, deputy home director Steve Smith, and community manager Maureen Shields.

The 64-bedroom luxury care home offers residents InteractiveMe - a person centred dementia care system to stay connected with families and loved ones. InteractiveMe sets up personalised profiles for all customers which allows staff to understand and care for them as individuals.

In addition, staff will be issued with carers smart phones and undergo a virtual tour to get the experience of what it is like for dementia sufferers arriving in a new environment, while wireless PCS nurse call and relative support systems are available to each resident.

Bramshott Grange also features ensuite shower facilities in each of the rooms, a cinema, an age suitable gym, an activity lounge, a cafe, a library as well as a hair and beauty salon and private dining facilities.

Guardian Angel carers, founded by Christina Bassadone, provide an award winning care team in the so called “Forget Me Not Community”.

The two-storey care home, which is set in the grounds of Bramshott Place Village, is scheduled to open to residents in April, and will be surrounded by large landscaped gardens, screening it from the existing residential community.

Bramshott Grange has also launched an appeal for Liphook’s local “unsung heroes” to come forward.

Libby Barrett is asking for nominations of people who are doing great work for the local community, without seeking praise, to enter their competition.

The winner will be invited to officially open Bramshott Grange next April as their VIP guest of honour and receive £250 to be donated to a local charity of their choice.

Four runners-up will each receive £75, also to be donated to a local charity of their choice. Nominations close on Wednesday, February 28.
