CROSSWAYS Counselling Service, a registered Haslemere charity providing support for people otherwise unable to afford it, has received a welcome boost from two supportive runners.
Bob and Anne Bannister ran this year’s London Marathon in aid of Crossways, raising £1,407 for the charity, and are pictured with the director Jane Saunders.
“When Boband Anne were successful in their ballot to run in the London Marathon, they knew exactly where to aim their fundraising efforts,” Jane said. “Aware of the lack of funding for mental health in general they contacted Crossways Counselling Service, a registered charity providing counselling for people otherwise unable to afford it.
“Although Bob had run in the marathon before it was the first time for Anne and she crossed the line in five hours.
“The money they raised will help Crossways address the lack of affordable counselling in Haslemere and the surrounding area.”
Crossways has a team of 10 counsellors, who have either a degree or masters in counselling, and abide by the Code of Ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
