FARNHAM residents are being asked when and why they would most likely want to see a doctor or nurse at a GP surgery – all as part of the process of improving GP services.

The organisations involved in planning, buying and providing healthcare across North East Hampshire and Farnham are working together with patients to shape future services.

This is to create services that meet people’s needs and because the current provision of GP services is unsustainable, with demand growing at a faster rate than available resources.

GP practices are working to understand the issues facing the delivery of services in each of the area’s five ‘localities’ and are identifying where improvements can be made by working more closely together.

A survey has been produced to help identify what local people feel is needed to help meet their needs and to improve access to GP services locally.

The survey has been divided into five local areas – Aldershot, Farnham, Farnborough, Fleet and Yateley – and residents will need to complete the survey which lists the GP surgery they are registered with.

Dr Peter Bibawy, an Aldershot GP and medical director of North East Hampshire and Farnham Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We’d like to hear from anybody registered with a local GP surgery about how and when they would like to be able to access GP services in the future.

“If you’re not currently registered with a GP, why not take that step and then fill in the survey? It’s important that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.”

The survey closes on Sunday, July 23.
