THE NHS is encouraging more patients to use the internet.

GP online services can be used by patients to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view records and correspondence.

Dr Andrew Holden, the primary care lead for South Eastern Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (which covers Whitehill and Bordon), said: “Patients who use online GP services are saving their own time and money by accessing services from the comfort of their homes and obviously helping to ease pressure on GPs and their staff.

“This is just one example of how we are increasing the use of technology in the NHS to empower people to take more control of their health, wellbeing and care.”

To start using online services, patients should take photo ID (like a passport) and proof of their address (such as a utility bill) to their GP practice. More information is available at southeasternhampshireccg.nhs.uk.
