A PUBLIC meeting is set to be held on plans to overhaul stroke care in the Waverley and Guildford areas.
Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS North West Surrey (CCG) are currently undertaking a 12-week public consultation on stroke services in west Surrey, which ends on April 30.
The consultation recommends consolidating specialist stroke services at two hospital sites in west Surrey; at Frimley Park Hospital and St Peter’s Hospital.
It is proposed that Royal Surrey County Hospital would no longer provide stroke care and patients with suspected strokes from the Guildford and Waverley area will be taken to either Frimley Park or St Peter’s Hospital and have their ongoing treatment and rehabilitation at sites related to these hospitals.
Royal Surrey will hold a governors, members and public meeting in response to the consultation at 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 19.
Those planning to attend are asked to email [email protected] or call 01483 408837 to register their place, so that they can be issued with a car parking permit.
