A FUNDRAISING effort to pay for a community defibrillator at the top of Alton High Street is well under way.

The project, called Defibruary, involves four exercise events to help promote healthy living and a healthy heart.

"We have a target of £2,500 to buy the appropriate equipment and to have it contained and installed at an accessible point for the community," commented James Chuter from Allsports Therapy.

The Bell House Dance Studio hosted an introductory evening of ballroom and Latin dancing last Friday.

The final fixture at 10.30am on Friday, February 22, will be a walk from the Jubilee playing fields to the White Hart in Holybourne.
