HEAVY rain failed to dampen the spirits at Brook fete on Bank Holiday Monday, which was boosted this year by sponsorship from King Edward's School Witley. Numbers were down but the hugely popular annual event, now in its 68th year, still made a profit and the money will be used to improve the facilities at Pirrie Hall and refurbish the kitchen. A generous donation from King Edward's helped pay for some of the fete's running costs and increase the proceeds for the upkeep of the village hall. For full story, see this week's Haslemere Herald.
