FARNHAM-based charity The Hedgehogs is in search for a share of £3billion worth of old and foreign currency circulating the nation, lying around in the cupboards and drawers of British homes.

Old British pre-decimal coins, European pre-euro coins, notes and coins from any country whether in currency circulation or not, The Hedgehogs are now able to recycle all these notes and coins and turn them into cash to swell their funds and to quote their slogan, ‘Help Local People in Need’.

In addition to the many yellow collection tins located in pubs and businesses in the Farnham area, The Hedgehogs are delighted to have larger collection buckets in place at the Farnham Herald offices in West Street, Natwest Bank and Barclays Banks in The Borough, Lloyds Bank in Castle Street and The Bourne Stores on Frensham Road.

Howard Warner, collections co-ordinator at The Hedgehogs said that he has already received a large amount of old and foreign currency, which has gone towards meeting the demands placed on the charities work in Farnham.
