THE Hedgehogs presented cheques of £1,000 each to charities Farnham ASSIST and Change of Scene arising from the net funds raised at its annual quiz night held in February at Weydon School.
Both charities had been chosen by the Hedgehogs to benefit from this year’s quiz proceeds and the cheques were handed over at a presentation at Farnham ASSIST’s office in Farnham.
June Trantom, Farnham ASSIST manager said at the presentation: “Farnham ASSIST is delighted to have been chosen by the Hedgehogs to receive this cheque.
“As a Christian organisation, that offers support to Farnham’s older community, through a series of planned events held during the year the funds are greatly welcomed.
“We have circa 400 of our older generation that are actively engaged with Farnham ASSIST supported by our volunteer team of 105 who help us to run the events calendar during the year.”
Sue Weaver, voluntary chief officer at Change of Scene added: “We received a significant donation from the Hedgehogs in 2016 which enabled the charity to invest in additional resources.
“This donation, will be exclusively used to support a child whose needs are currently critical but for whom the school no longer have funding available financial but at Change of Scene we believe it is essential that we continue to help the child to overcome current challenges and develop positive life skills in our special natural learning environment.”
