PUPILS in Surrey are being given the chance to pick the winner of an award given out by the county council’s libraries service.

The Children’s Book Award celebrates fiction written for seven to nine-year-olds and the libraries service is asking for 10 schools in the county to help them select a winner from the five shortlisted titles.

Every school involved will receive at least five copies each of the shortlisted books, a visit from one of the authors or illustrators and a place at the award ceremony next May.
