FARNHAM Town Council has organised a community litter pick to help make sure Farnham looks its best when the Britain in Bloom judges arrive on Tuesday, August 2.

Volunteers are invited to join in the town centre spruce-up on Saturday, July 30, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Stephen Hill, the town council’s lead member for community enhancement, said: “This year, the community has been helping us to tackle litter by taking part in our Bloomin’ Litter initiative. Thirty-three people have so far signed up to litter pick an area of their choice on a regular basis.

“We are now inviting even more people to get involved by taking part in one of our large community litter picks. All equipment will be provided including gloves, high visibility jackets and litter picking sticks. Previous litter picking events have been a big success and have involved individuals, families and businesses.”

Anybody wishing to take part is asked to register their interest by contacting Lara Prior at lara.prior@farn

ham.gov.uk or by calling 01252 712667. Volunteers should meet at Farnham Town Council’s offices so they can be supplied with their litter-picking kit.
