Sir, - I was astonished to read that Simon Joslin or his friends have sacrificed home lives, careers and relationships in order to prevent our country joining the Euro. I don't recall seeing any letters from him on the subject in your previous newspapers.
I do remember very well how the previous government, whose Chancellor of the Exchequer was Norman Lamont, got in a mess with our "wonderful pound" and went to Europe to be "helped out".
No going to mighty USA. I doubt if they would have been interested.
My late husband worked for an Anglo-Dutch company famous worldwide from whom I receive a very generous pension always "topped up" in line with the cost of living.
Finally, like the Danes, we will have a referendum and then the people will speak, that's what democracy is all about!
