THE Herald has launched a campaign urging the town's businesses to get behind serving members of the British armed forces.

The Heroes Welcome scheme, started in Yorkshire and rolled out in more than 30 other towns and cities, has been adopted by Waverley Borough Council.

It was launched on Wednesday at an event hosted by Herald owner Sir Ray Tindle.
