SOLDIERS from 4 Close Support Battalion of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) have paraded through packed Alton streets after a gruelling six-month tour of Afghanistan.

With them on Thursday were the REME division who have been doing a clearing-up operation in Kuwait. They were distinguished by their khaki desert uniforms followed by those, in the traditional green, who stayed to man the Bordon Garrison.
