ALTON'S Paralympians have returned from London 2012 with a haul of medals, having left a lasting legacy in the way the world views paralympic sport.

Great Britain came third in the Paralympic medal table behind China and Russia, with 120 medals – 34 gold, 43 silver and 43 bronze – a haul that was helped in no small way by paralympians from the Alton area.

With two silver, three bronze and a wealth of experience under their belts, Peter Norfolk, Jodi Hill, David Smith, Dan Bentley, Ben Rushgrove, Jess Hunter, Maxine Moore and Martin Sinclair, are all stars who have played their hearts out to put Alton on the Paralympic map.
