Recorded crime fell to its lowest level for more than a year in central Farnham in January with a similar story being reported south of the Wey.
The latest stats on www.police.uk make largely encouraging reading with just 46 incidents being reported during the first month of 2026 in the central patch.
That’s down on the previous low of 56 set the month before, with the same figure also being recorded for September 2025.
Crimes involving violence or sexual offences (VSOs) were the most frequently reported with 17 overall, with theft and anti-social behaviour following on 11 and 7, respectively.
Vehicle crimes were reported in the Central and Maltings car parks while a property on Mead Lane was also burgled.

And two white males aged 25-34 were also stopped and searched on Farnham Mill Lane for suspected drugs offences, with no further action being taken.
Crime also dropped to its second-lowest level for a year in the Wrecclesham, Rowledge and The Bourne patch with 36 reports being made, and 34 being the 12-month low.
Talbot Road was something of a hotspot during the month with a pair of burglaries and two reports of criminal damage being made over the month.
Sadly, the figures are less positive around Weybourne, Badshot Lea and Moor Park with crime levels reaching their second highest point for a year in January.
The number of crimes reported rose from 27 in December to 36, with 42 in July 2025 being the current 12-month high. Like most patches, VSOs were the most frequently reported on 15, followed by anti-social behaviour on 8.
Burglaries were also reported on Broomleaf Road and Snailslynch while the Bullers Road area seems to be the most “crime-ridden” area with six offences.
Police carried no stop-and-searches in either the Wrecclesham or Weybourne patches during the month.
