PLANS to turn a narrow ancient alleyway in Petersfield High Street into a shop have been turned down.

The 17th century cobble-stoned alleyway, the entrance to a former coaching inn, is classified as Grade II Listed with Listed buildings either side and is in the town's conservation area.
