THE victim of a hit-and-run accident is offering a £1,000 reward to any witness coming forward who is able to give information leading to the conviction of the offender.

The incident occurred at around 10-40 am on Saturday, June 23, around half a mile south of the Lawns public house on the A32 at West Tisted.

The victim - a Four Marks man riding a red and grey sports motorcycle, was catapulted more than 100 yards after being forced off of the road and into a ditch by a blue AC Cobra sports car carrying out an overtaking manoeuvre.

He alleges that the blue sports car was overtaking a car on a bend when he came round the corner in the opposite direction. He was subsequently forced off the road and thrown from his bike.

The car that was being overtaken is believed to have been towing a horse box or caravan, and it is the occupants of this vehicle that the victim wants to track down.

While the Cobra driver has since come forward, the case cannot proceed without an independent witness.

According to the victim, time is now of the essence and if new evidence does not come to light by December 23, the police will not be able to prosecute.

If the driver of the vehicle towing the horse box or trailer, or anyone with information regarding this case, would like to come forward, then they should contact Roger Deverill on 01420 564415.
