CHORISTERS from a village near Alton will be performing in Petersfield on Saturday.
And they warmed up for their Petersfield concert by forming a flash mob in the town square.
Holybourne Singers will be performing the glorious Bach Magnificat and the lesser known but sublime Vivaldi Magnificat at St Peter’s Church at 7.30pm.
A spokesman for Holybourne Singers said: “This impeccably accurate choir brings fresh, vibrant performances to its broad base of followers and looks forward to delighting what will no doubt be another sell out audience.”
The main choir will be joined by the new Chamber Choir, who will be performing a selection of pieces, including Beatus Vir by Monteverdi.
The choirs, led by Rebekah Abbott, their charismatic director, will be joined by Brentwood Cathedral organist Stephen King and soloists from the Guildhall School of Music.
This concert is in aid of Isabelle Mycroft, a six-year-old Ropley girl who needs life-changing surgery in the United States to enable her to walk, run and play like her twin brother.
Isabelle was born with a form of cerebral palsy and her charity is called Isabelle’s Dream.
Tickets, priced £12 and free to children aged 12 and under, are available from Waterstone’s in Alton or One Tree Books in Petersfield, or by e-mail via [email protected].
