IT could soon be "open season" for developers in Farnham, it has been warned, after Waverley's plan of where to build houses in the borough was rubbished by the Government inspectorate.

Waverley's core strategy proposes building 230 new homes in the borough each year until 2028, with the bulk of those homes earmarked for Farnham and its surrounding countryside.

However, an inspector acting on behalf of the Secretary of State has expressed "serious concerns" over the plan - criticising Waverley for not co-operating with neighbouring councils and failing to meet housing demand.
