SEVEN students drew enthusiastic applause from an appreciative audience at St Mark’s Church, Hale, when they put on A Concert for Hope to raise money for the charity Hope for Children.
The seven, all current or former students of All Hallows Catholic School and Sixth Form College, performed a range of music including Debussy’s Syrinx for flute, Ingrid Michaelson’s The Chain, Let It Go by James Blunt and an a capella version of The Lord is my Shepherd.
The concert was organised by year 12 student Ali Eggleton to help support the fundraising efforts of her older brother Edward Eggleton from Farnham who is trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro later this year in aid of Hope for Children, a charity which supports some of the poorest children in the world, offering them shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, education and, above all, hope.
The concert made £359, taking Edward a few steps closer to his target of £3,000 to enable him to take part in the trek and raise much-needed funds for the children.
However, he still has a long way to go. Anyone who is able to help is asked to donate via Edward’s fundraising page which can be found at https://2016notts.everydayhero.com/uk/edward-eggleton .
