Plans for a pump track on the northern edge of Farnham are ready for lift off as a planning application has been officially submitted to Waverley Borough Council.
Residents have played a direct part in designs for the “progressive” pump track at Sandy Hill with consultations taking place either side of Christmas.
With a planning application now submitted and approval likely, work is likely to start in late spring with hopes high for a mid-summer launch.
Some £130,000 has been budgeted for a track with a range of “exciting features” which form a “dynamic” and “flowing course” that’s both accessible and thrilling to ride.
Parties involved in the application feel the 0.26 hectare site is ideally located while public support is high with more than 1,000 people taking part in a previous survey and 90 per cent of respondents in favour of the facility.

“There is no pump track or similar facility within the Borough, with residents having to travel to other facilities in Fleet and Alton, for example,” states the design and access statement submitted by D&M Planning.
“Sandy Hill is one of the most deprived areas of The Borough, where improvements to local facilities and equipment would provide local residents with a boost and play and important role in the social development of children living in this community.”
Specialist designers On Track were commissioned by WBC to create and build the new facility with the final designs being “warmly welcomed” by residents and Cllr Kika Mirylees when unveiled in January.
She said: “The Sandy Hill Pump Track is set to become a vibrant new destination for the area.”
