THERE is still hope that Bordon-Whitehill will be chosen to become an eco-town, following a decision by housing minister Margaret Beckett to extend the deadline for responses to the Government's consultation.
She announced this week that the decision to extend the second eco-town consultation - which will now end on April 30 rather than at the end of February - had been taken to allow prospective eco-town residents, including those in Bordon-Whitehill, more time to air their views on whether they want to become one of 10 eco-towns the Government wants to create.
