Plans to axe nine beds from the Chase Hospital have taken one step closer to becoming reality after Bordon's patient watchdog accepted the need to scrap the beds.

Under proposals to claw back an annual £13.5 million deficit and improve the local health service, the Community Health Council (CHC) for North Hampshire accepted that the beds must be lost.
