FARNHAM Hospital held its second annual autumn Health and Wellbeing Day last weekend.

The hospital’s three GPs surgeries offered flu jabs, while organisers Farnham Integrated Care Services hosted a series of Heartstart demonstrations, Virgin Care appealed for volunteers and Farnham town councillors talked to people about the new development plan.

Presentations were also given by Clare Park Hospital on physio, Right at Home on dementia awareness and Virgin Care on falls.

Entertainment was provided by Hugh on the ukelele, while other stands featured Making Connections, and Berkeley Home Health.

The Friends of Farnham Hospital received almost £200 in donations and gained several new members. Together with the Rotary Club of Farnham it also promoted the charity Cyclathon on March 23, 2019 alongside which the next Health and Wellbeing Day is planned.

Chair of the Friends of Farnham Hospital and Centre for Health, George Alford, said: “We are delighted that the Wellbeing days are becoming a regular fixture in the calendar. For the next event we would welcome contact from organisations interested in participating with stands, demonstrations or talks. Interested parties should visit the Friends website. Similarly, charities interested in participating in the Cyclathon should watch the Rotary club’s website at www.rotaryfarnham.co.uk .”
