HASLEMERE Rugby Club U13s hosted Milan University Sports Centre for two days, as part of an action-packed start to the rugby season.

Club chairman Richard George said: “This is by the far the busiest two weeks ever in our club’s history.

“We have been hosting the England U20 women’s team, a visiting Italian club as well putting on two major festivals which will attract over 1,400 children.

“To cap it off our U16s have gone off on a tour to Berlin over half-term.”

Membership is now at record levels, as the club continues to expand in all age groups.

Haslemere RFC now offers coaching and training from micros (U5s), through mini, junior, colts and senior groups.

A new ladies training squad and vets team complete the picture for 2018.

Club president Ged Hall added: “We are blessed with fantastic facilities in beautiful surroundings.

But what marks this club out is the overwhelming support of its members, who volunteer several thousand hours each year.

“With ambitious plans into 2019, things won’t be slowing down any time soon.”
