PLANS to extend an 11-bed Hale guest house into an 80-bed business hotel have received a set-back with town councillors deciding not to back the scheme.

Members of the council's planning and traffic committee went against their own plans panel's previous advice and have objected to the Poachers Barn planning application, saying the new three-to-four-star hotel would be too big and in the wrong place.
