PLANNERS have rejected an application by Hollybourne Hotels Ltd to build two detached three-storey blocks of flats in the grounds of the Alton House Hotel.

The application, which would have provided 12 two-bedroom flats, would have required the removal of the existing swimming pool and tennis courts.
